African Cotton Industries began in 1956 when Absorbent Cotton Industries was acquired by the late Karim Anjarwalla, establishing the foundation of a proudly Kenyan health and hygiene manufacturer. The business was re-incorporated in 1960 as African Cotton Industries Ltd., growing from cotton wool production into a regional leader in fast-moving health and hygiene products across East Africa.
For over five decades, we have built our business on care — the foundation of our products, our services, and the relationships we uphold. Our motto, “caring for you with a tender touch,” reflects our commitment to improving everyday life through quality, reliability, and trusted brands.
Today, African Cotton Industries operates across Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kampala, employing several hundred people and serving millions of consumers across the region. Our portfolio includes Tena® tissue, Dove® cotton wool, and Flora® sanitary pads, brands trusted in homes, hospitals, and institutions every day.
Through our products, partnerships, and people, we continue to touch lives, support communities, and create shared value across East Africa.
