Children with physical disabilities from low-income families often face significant barriers to rehabilitation — including limited access to assistive devices, transport, essential hygiene products, and consistent care. These challenges can delay recovery and hinder their ability to fully participate in school and society.
African Cotton Industries’ partnership with the APDK Rehabilitation Clinic in Mombasa, initiated by the late Mrs. Sugu Anjarwalla together with Mr. Salim Anjarwalla, continues to provide meaningful, long-term support to children and families in need — helping restore dignity, independence, and opportunity.
Impact highlights
- Providing essential hygiene products to approximately 60 in-patients each year
- Supporting 61 sponsored students from economically challenged backgrounds
- Contributing to improved rehabilitation outcomes and patient wellbeing
Human impact
When children’s basic needs are met, they can focus on recovery, return to school, and reintegrate into society with confidence and a renewed sense of belonging
